ELEMENTS of DRAMA and DRAMATIC IRONY

"Trifles"
Check out this video to understand the elements of drama.
Now it's your turn. Print out the play -- "Trifles" -- below and the Drama Terms Scavenger Hunt. Find all of the elements of drama in the play.
Before you read the play, you need to understand irony. There are three types. Go through the following Powerpoint and see if you can identify the three types when you see them.

To make sure you have the concept, print and complete the following irony practice sheet.
As you read the play -- "Trifles" -- search for any irony that occurs in the play. Then you will be writing a paragraph describing the irony that you found and explaining why it is ironic.
Then, complete the Drama Map at the Read, Write, Think website. This will allow you to pick out all of the parts of a drama.
